SDC Projects are building professionals who provide value adding support in all building matters for homeowners, corporate property owners, developers, builders, tenants, property managers and owner-builders. Whether you are purchasing a property, leasing a property or constructing a property we can help.
Property inspections and construction support services are provided personally by the proprietor, David Allan. David is a licenced builder with over 40 years of diverse experience in the building industry and real technical know-how.
If you want personalised service and you want to be sure you are getting sound, expert value-adding advice David is the one you want. David is passionate about his work and passionate about adding value for clients.
Property Inspection services are personalised, prompt and we will stick with you to the end of the issue. We leave no stone unturned and will get to the bottom of any problem. We will even assist with repairs of identified problems if required.
Construction support services are sought after by clients who want to de-risk their project by engaging an expert for critical tasks. Our approach is to partner with you and become part of your team.
David has built high rise residential projects that were completed “Defect Free”. This is generally unheard of in the industry and is the ultimate test of a builder’s technical know-how. David will also consult to builders and developers to help them develop strategies for delivering defect-free projects. David does not only want to be in the part of the industry that inspects but also contributes to raising the standard of project delivery in Australia.
Given the significant cost and risk associated with buying property and construction obtaining independent advice is a small price to pay for risk management and peace of mind.
All services are provided for Residential, Commercial & Industrial Properties.
We are based in Baulkham Hills in Sydney yet offer services anywhere in Australia including servicing property owners with projects in remote parts of Australia.

ABOUT DAVID ALLAN
The proprietor and founder of SDC Projects, David Allan, has over 40 years of diverse experience in the building industry including over 26 years as a licensed builder.
This background provides real technical know-how allowing David to add value and de-risk any project. David not only knows what to look for but has also built major high-rise buildings “Defect Free” being the ultimate test of technical know-how.
David’s great depth of experience includes management of building projects in the capacity of Site Manager, Estimator, Senior Project Manager, Design Manager, Construction Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Regional Manager & Client side Project Manager.
David ‘lives’ his assignments and comfortably embraces the ownership and responsibility each assignment demands.
David’s experience has been gained in all sectors of the building industry including residential, commercial, industrial, mine infrastructure, government, heritage, estate infrastructure, defence, aged care, retail and Process Engineering.
The geographical mix of this experience includes projects in Sydney, Regional NSW, Melbourne, Regional Victoria, Brisbane, North Queensland, Regional Queensland, Northern Territory, East Timor as well as a number of geographically remote projects.
Major contract experience was gained with Thiess, Hutchinson & Barclay Mowlem (now Laing O’Rourke) on a number of landmark projects in the capacity of Design Manager & Senior Project Manager.
Such a solid background together with real technical know-how allows David to understand the needs of all stakeholders and add value.
David is passionate about his work and aims to not only to add value for clients but also contribute to higher standards of construction in the Australian building industry.
SDC IN THE COMMUNITY
David career has included time contributing to the development of the new nation of Timor-Leste (East Timor).
This ‘Capacity Building’ work involved living in East Timor for one year and working with a local Timorese building company to help take them to the next level. The business comprised nearly all Timorese staff where David worked together on all elements of the business including the delivery of building projects.
One of the business initiatives was the development of a prototype house that was ideally suited for East Timor. The criteria to be satisfied was very different criteria to building in Australia which necessitated a completely different approach to how it is done in Australia.
David found this rewarding expereince very much a two way street. While David was busy capacity building he found the work took him back to first principles and forced him to learn the most effective way to teach in this unfamiliar environment.
David & his wife returned to Australia with changed thinking which has added a rich diversity to their experiences. This has in turn changed the way David looks at life and construction back in Australia.
David & his wife have since spent time living in Arnhem Land NT with a similar motivation.
